Micro Macro

The Micro Macro Internship Programme  is the flagship programme produced by SEED. In collaboration with SMEs across the island, training facilitators and volunteers, interns are hosted by various organizations.

In both the summer programme for ages 15-21 and the cohort programme for ages 18-29, interns not only receive on the job, hands on experience, but they also participate in fundamental training sessions to build capacity in personal and professional development, core competencies and transferable skills.

Advocacy

As we deepen our work with youths in Barbados, more issues are being highlighted that we believe should be addressed. We hope to share more of what we learn and identify. Some things have been troubling, like low application numbers submitted by males in the programme over five years.  Some things have been heartwarming, like deep wells of talent within our youths.

Appointed SEED Ambassadors and Trustees attend events and speak on behalf of the organization. We will continue to expand means of sharing information. Below, through programming and sponsorship, we expect to do more.

Programming

In addition to major programme and projects, we would like to use as many opportunitities as possible to build community and continue to link SMEs to their communities.

SMEs also need assistance, and as members of the charity would also be beneficiaries of programmes that increase their knowledge sets, challenge their creativity and embolden their next growth phase.

Whether we are creating or collaborating on an existing programme or event, be sure to stay connected so we see you there!

Sponsorship

This little one witnessed the graduation of 13 interns in 2016. Unbeknownst to her, she was captured as a part of history.

Watching so much talent walk through the door as we engage with entrepreneurs, young artists, vibrant athletes, keen students inspires us to partner with them beyond capacity building.

While we are formulating how we can financially assist, we also connect through requesting assistance to continue the great work. Our donors continue to #DigDeepSowSEED, so we can continue to increase opportunities and impact lives.

Entrepreneurship

After all, we are small businesses looking to participate meaningfully in our communities. While we would not take the opportunity away from those who prefer to participate by giving financially, we have big dreams for the young people of the region. So we will take it to the marketplace where we can sustainably earn the funds needed to support the beneficiaries of our initiatives.

It's also important that we encourage entrepreneurship, financial intelligence and wise planning among our youths. Since most small businesses are family run, they too are a part of our growing community.
